Assignment Description

Design, supply and installation of energy efficient lighting technology.

Assignment Outcomes

Designed, supplied, installed and commissioned 537 induction lights in the underground car park. A further 41 lights and sensors installed in the external car park. The project is delivering 61% energy savings and CO2e reduction.

Financial savings will be even greater with the induction lighting providing an 85,000 hour (L70) operating life.

Assignment Description

Energy efficiency analysis, lighting design and installation of energy efficient lighting technology.

Assignment Outcomes

Enigin developed a successful business case and grant application for which the MS Society of WA was awarded federal funding to carry out an upgrade of its lighting system at their Wilson site in Western Australia with the latest energy efficient technology. The project involved the installation of 376 LED luminaries of varying type and upgrading of the existing switchboard to increase circuit protection.
The luminaries installed were manufactured by Screentech, Brightgreen, Hillstone and Clipsal. The project was successfully completed in under 5 weeks. 

The installation of energy efficient LED luminaries reduced electricity consumption at the site by 157 units per day. This equates to annual savings at the site of $18,865.

Assignment Description

To design, supply and install a 30kWh commercial PV system complying with all relevant Australian Standards and adhering to the Clean Energy Council (CEC) guidelines.

Assignment Outcomes

Project managed the design, supply, installation and commission of a 30kW Solar PV system consisting of 80 panels (20kW) installed on the NNE facing roof and a further 40 panels (10kW) on the SSW roof. The system produces an Annual Energy Yield of 53,398.80 kWh with 100% Energy Usability Factor and performance ratio of approximately 87.7%. A return on investment to be achieved in 3.15 years with a post-installation annual maintenance and performance verification program to maximise system performance and minimise system downtime.

Assignment Description

Enigin Western Australia to collaborate with Horizon Power, WALGA, the individual Shires and submit a Round 1 CEEP application for the replacement of low durable and low intensity Street Lights with Energy Efficient LED Street Lights to four regions in the Pilbara.

Assignment Outcomes

The successful application developed by Enigin Western Australia provided LED streetlights in Onslow, South Headland, Wedgefield & Roebourne and was one of only 63 approved projects from 298 applications. The project will see the existing 1,145 high energy, low durability and in some cases low intensity lights replaced by LED fittings by 2013. The Project will realise substantial environmental, social and economic benefit for the local communities, the utility and ultimately the state. It is estimated that over the life of the assets for the four areas in the Pilbara alone the financial savings will be in the order of $5.9M; greenhouse gas emissions will reduce by over 4,000 tonnes and material social benefits will result from improved lighting and security.

Assignment Description

To define the opportunity, design improvement options and develop an Energy Management Plan and individual business cases for renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy management initiatives. Engineering, procurement and implementation management across both the Common area’s and Fruit and Vegetable Market.

Assignment Outcomes

Procurement of an improved energy contract (new Tariff Structure); Design, supply and installation of a 30kW Solar PV system; Project Management of the installation of air-curtains, and re-gassing of refrigeration equipment. The program has delivered a 48% kWh reduction with a 53% financial savings for the Fruit and Veg market and a 37% kWh reduction with a 42% financial savings in the common area with a whole program ROI of less than 3 years.

Assignment Description

Audit and investment prioritisation for over a dozen schools across WA to achieve the highest return on investment from their Commonwealth Government sustainability grants. Implemented solutions included occupancy and daylight harvesting sensors and controls; low energy lighting; web enabled energy metering and monitoring; and solar photovoltaic generation systems.

Assignment Outcomes

To date 112,920 kW; 92,594 CO2; and $35,000 has been saved

IGA Duncraig achieved an energy saving rate of 57%. Gadfly Gallery 92% but the lighting is also displaying art (colours) the way the artist intended. Panda Parking in the City of Perth have reduced lighting energy costs by 57 per cent.
